About the Role:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for compiling the weekly accounting reports and the month-end accounting reports, overseeing the Accounts Payable, the Accounts Receivable and compiling the weekly Gross Margin reports and month-end Financial Statements including financial analysis to the Executive Team and other financial information users. This role will act as a liaison between Accounting and Management teams. The Senior Accountant will also be the main point of contact for providing information to external auditors. With proven continued success in performing the required functions, this position allows ample opportunity for growth within the organization

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely accounting of all financial records and compilation of financial reports
  • Collaborate with out-sourced parties to gather all required data for support of financial records
  • Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, inventory, and various expense accounts
  • Maintain the fixed assets, leasehold improvement, amortization schedule and depreciation schedule
  • Complete weekly reconciliation of bank statements and month-end reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts
  • Summarize weekly sales information to provide analysis by department and location to Management teams
  • Provide Gross Margin reports and analysis of Profit and Loss statement to Management teams at the end of each accounting period
  • Compile weekly payroll reports and payroll related reports to the management team. All payroll weekly payroll reports are reconciled at the end of each accounting period
  • Calculate and analyze weekly labor expense by employee headcount, department, and location
  • Assist in developing and maintaining accounting processes to ensure compliance with US GAAP and other applicable standards
  • Support audits and compliance activities, including documentation, support, and correspondence to external auditors
  • Maintain current knowledge and changes of government and sales tax rates by county and regulations to mitigate any unforeseen liabilities
  •  Ad-hoc projects as needed to support business objectives

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with diligence and attention to details
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills which demonstrate conscientiousness, diplomacy, and dependability
  • Highest level of integrity and accountability
  • Flexible to fast-changing environments and willingness to adapt to constant changes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CPA candidate, or advanced degree
  • Proven ability to identify and drive process and system improvements

Competencies:

  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and mathematical skills.
  • Must have the ability to handle large volumes of assignments and adapt to a fast-pace and dynamic work environment
  • Must have superior computer skills, in particular Advanced Excel and Power Point.
  • Must have superior communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, strategic thinker with a can-do attitude
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus

Pay range:

$28.85- $31/hour
